University of Abuja Welcomes Life-Saving “Bring Back to Life” Initiative

The Society for Public Health and Social Development (SPHSD), in partnership with the Nigeria Cardiac Society (NCS), recently paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja to formally brief him on the Society’s ongoing activities, particularly the Bring Back to Life (BBL) Programme.

During the visit, the SPHSD delegation, led by its Executive Director, Dr Doris Maduka, informed the Vice-Chancellor that the organisation has secured the donation of a Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) from QuestVilla Solutions Ltd. The donation also includes the installation of the device, two years of maintenance, and the training of 20 community first responders within the university community.

The Vice-Chancellor warmly welcomed the initiative and expressed his strong commitment to supporting the successful implementation of the programme at the University of Abuja. He also commended SPHSD for what he described as a commendable humanitarian effort aimed at saving lives.

In a moment that added a personal touch to the visit, the Vice-Chancellor expressed delight on learning that the BBL Programme Officer, Mr Ikenna Aliche, is an alumnus of the university. Clearly pleased, the Vice-Chancellor requested a special handshake with Mr Aliche in recognition of his contribution to the impactful initiative.

The Bring Back to Life Programme continues to advance its mission of improving emergency response and saving lives through increased access to defibrillation and community training.
